91大神 University has recently joined , a global competition that asks students and educators to rethink social and environmental issues through systems thinking—going beyond disciplines and questioning deeply held assumptions.
The program will culminate with top STUdent presenters travelling to Oxford in July 2026 to compete with students from around the world.
Map the System is offered in partnership with the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford and aims to bridge the gap between student-as-learner and student-as-changemaker.
Map the System at STU
At STU, Map the System will be delivered through a for-credit course in Sustainability and Environmental Studies—SEST 3143: Theories of Sustainability and Change, which is being offered in the Winter 2026 term on Tuesday and Thursdays, from 4:00 PM – 5:20 PM.
Using the Oxford ‘map the system’ curriculum, students in the course will work in teams of 2-4, to research a sustainability problem of their choice, and prepare written and visual materials based on their research.
At the end of the semester, teams will present their work in a STU campus competition where they are judged on the quality of their research, their analytical skills, and their visual representation of the systems involved in their “problem.” Winners will go on to the global competition at Oxford University in July 2026.
The course is open to all STU students who have completed 27 credit hours of courses, regardless of program.
Registration is now open on .
